Psalm 119:105 "Your word is alamp to my feet and a light for my path."
I have often read, or sung these words, and they are always special, always a reminder of how He speaks to us through His word. But only when the real trials come and I am truly going to the Word for strength and guidance do these words become my reality. There are times when it's helpful to talk with family or friends, to seek their advice about matters. And then there are times when it's just me and God. When I develop the discipline of talking not only the "big things" but the daily decisions to Him, and search for answers from Him, I find them. I may not always like the answer, but it's always there! God is SO faithful! His word is truly "a lamp to my feet and a light for my path." One step at a time- one day at a time He keeps my feet, my life, on track. He shines his light just far ahead enough so that I can see the very next step to take. Then, back to him I must go, "Which way now, Lord?" and he shines His light so I can take one more step.
My Prayer: "O Lord, don't let me take one step without You this day. Thank You Father that You care so much about me that You want my feet to stay on Your path. This, and every day Lord- let me be in Your word so that I don't follow anyone else's path, including my own. Let me see only where Your word leads me at each and every turn. Thank You for not showing me too far ahead, for that would be overwhelming. As I go about my day, please help me to be sensitive to see and hear Your leading. Let me be so in tune with You that I quickly see where You are shining Your light for me to take my next step. Amen.
