While one said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life”, the other held on to an opposite principle, “I Came, I Saw, I Conquered”. Jesus Christ shares too the same time of existence with Julius Caesar, but HE came as a Savior to define freedom and liberty to the Jews. HE understood the struggles and burdens of HIS people as slaves, and yet HE chose not to wipe out the Romans. HE could have if HE desired to, as HE had done within minutes to the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.
However, HE has a long term plan. It is termed HIS Will. On mountain tops, in holy temples and hideouts of criminals, HE taught to ALL on love, obedience, compassion and etc. HIS ultimate goal is to give new life to ALL, regardless of Jew or Gentile and grant the gift of the Holy Spirit to the children of GOD.
Julius Caesar until now is remembered in history books and memories of men, for his valor and victory in battles. He is considered as one of those feared by enemies, even as he approaches cities with his mighty army. His conquest is to gain as much fame and fortune as possible. His selfishness and pride however, has caused human disaster to take place. Of all the memories, of which he is remembered for; good or bad, yet he remains in history.
Jesus Christ is now sitting on the right hand of the throne of his Father in heaven. HE is constantly remembered as one, who has died to wash away the sins of men, resurrected, and reveals salvation to men. HE is not somebody in history, but someone so alive within us. HE has stated “I am the bread of Life, he comes to me shall never hunger and he that believes in me shall never thirst” (John 6:35). Therefore, let us move aside our history books, and take upon the Bible. Get excited and learn then more on Jesus Christ who is alive, instead of Julius Caesar who is dead. Give glory to the JC who truly deserves it! Amen!
