At the time, for encouragements sake, I drew from some of 'my own personal experiences of difficulty at a time when all I could do was look outside and see how amazing the rainbows were. I often feel at those times of hardship God gives us Rajnbows, in all kinds of ways.
The rainbow is a metaphor I have used to describe the wisdom and encouragement we can find in the simplest things in those rainy seasons within our lives.
I also wrote my poem from the story of genesis where God
promises us a rainbow after a storm, or even more appropriately named, - flood. I feel that God can be like that in so many ways for us, and that the story of Noah's flood is more than just only a great bible story. For many, it can be a
story of how beauty can arise out of what may feel to us like a flood, or unending raining storms in our trials. Yet through the darkness and all the rain, and through our journey of life, lies hope. So therefore, I do hope people can feel encouraged in
reading my little poem about what rainbows there are in life, if we can see beyond our storms.
Blessings to all!
The rainbow song.
Whenever you are gloomy,
Or having a bad day.
Look to the sky,
Even though
There is rain.
For although there
May be darkness,
The sun will shine for you again.
For you cannot have a rainbow,
Without a little rain!
You cannot have daylight,
Without blackened skies.
You cannot have trials
Without asking questions of why.
And, although you may be going
Along a gravelly road,
There is something,
I really think you should know...
When the problems of life
Seem to overshadow,
Know that answers are waiting,
As you look out
'your window.
So even though it may be gloomy,
As the clouds roll on by;
Remember how God,
He loves you,
When you see a rainbow in the sky!
Just trust in his plans
Wherever life goes...
For in the midst of your storms,
There is a rainbow, I know!!
