Cycle of Living
Days gone, whence we were young and bold,
when there was nothing we won’t do on a dare,
that was then, and the story was yet to be told,
a carefree time of life and death without a care.
Now much wiser and older then we were before,
for time itself has given us wisdom in our years,
stopping to check , before we open another door,
in just surviving we often had to shed many tears.
Aging steadily through the corridors of our time,
from strength and power to fragile older beings,
our body may have weakened but not our minds,
with elicit time comes intellect of actually seeing.
Each day is a constant struggle across this land,
bringing reality to our own personal illusions,
no longer are our heads buried in the deep sand,
nor are we lost in the mist of earthly confusion.
Maturing with time brings wisdom to our days,
lost is our misguided youth passed on from birth,
gaining the placid knowledge of nature’s ways,
destiny’s dust to dust, returning to Mother Earth.
