Develop Your Business First Before Building Your House
Proverbs 24:27 (The Message)
First plant your fields; then build your barn.
God teaches us to prioritize building our source of income. When we develop our business first, we are building a network that will eventually lead us to a positive cash flow. When our income becomes regularly higher than our expenses, we build extra uncommitted income that we could commit to “building our house”.
The word of God teaches us to build our career overtime so that we would know the value of hard work and God’s resources – time, health, money, relationships, opportunities, threats, trials, challenges, and our own strengths and weaknesses. We are taking in these daily ‘vitamins’ as we experience His grace and mercy.
As we build our business, God leads us through, one day at a time. His grace is sufficient for our needs. But the process of building our business takes a lot of time, hard work, and effort. Eventually, those difficult situations developed character.
The right character that was developed overtime is now useful in ‘building our own house’. We have created a positive cash flow. What’s so funny about the whole exercise is that building our own house needs time, a sane mind (good health), proper financial planning, right relationships (or good contacts), lots of opportunities, plenty of threats, discouraging trials, and surprising challenges. These are the same ‘vitamins’ we took while building our business. In Romans 5:3-4, Paul mentioned that we rejoice in our sufferings because it produces perseverance, then character, and then hope in God.
Our God created us not to have a convenient life here on earth. He wants us to develop our character so that we would be pleasing to Him. May the word of God dwell in us richly.

Yes, yes, yes, may the Word of God dwell RICHLY in us. AMEN! After all, we are being built up a spiritual house and the Word of God is our source. Can't very well be built up a richly furnised spiritual house if the Word doesn't dwell richly in us. Nicely done. :)
Wow, I loved this. Simple Wisdom, beautiful, from the Lord. I have been whining to the Lord, really, about wanting a place,as my heart yearns to feed his children, before planting the seeds into the lives of people, by going out door to door, in an area. I'd been asking and asking in my heart. Wanting the place first. This, is the answer I believe. Go plant the seed, work the ground, and when the increase comes, then get the place to bring them in to. Thanks. Love, Kathy Angell
