The American Dream is to have freedom. We can do what we want when we want to as long as we don’t break the law and interfere with someone else’s rights. The American Dream is different for each person. What you dream for yourself may not be what I dream for myself. That is the freedom of America. The American dream is achieved by hard work, strong beliefs, and persistence.
My dream for right now is to go to the Vans Triple Crown and win it. This is a skateboarding event. To achieve this, I need to work hard and stick with it. I realize that not all dreams are possible. For example, a chicken can’t take over the world using marshmallows and a telephone cord. It can be done in the movies but not in reality. Some people don’t dream, they fantasize. There’s a difference, you know.
My dream for my future is to have a good job and a loving family. Life is boring if you don’t have someone to share it with. Yeah, this would be my American Dream for the future.
There are a lot of things that I can’t do. There are a lot of things that I don’t want to do but someone else may want to do them. The things that can keep me from achieving my dreams are losing motivation and not sticking with it. Perseverance is an obstacle for me in achieving my American Dream because I am naturally lazy and I only stick with something for a little while then I lose interest. I need to work on this. It’s probably part of being a young teenager. Maybe it will go away when the hormones balance out. Maybe it will go away when I learn to stick with something. I know it takes practice.
However, when I see other people doing something that I want to do, it motivates me to practice hard in order to do it. That’s what motivates me. Competition.
In America, dreams are the same as inventions. If I had to take something and improve it, I’d change silverware. I would put little thermometers inside each piece so that people would know the temperature of the food before they tasted it. This also helps to keep down food poisoning if something isn’t cooked right. I don’t know if people would buy my new, improved silverware because there are too many similar items that do the job now. But I still think it’s a cool idea.
If I wasn’t allowed to say the “Pledge of Allegiance”, that would be really weird to me. Well, maybe not so weird in a way because we hardly say it anymore except for in schools and before games. I don’t think many people say it with meaning and from their hearts anymore. We take too many things for granted and the “Pledge of Allegiance”, people don’t really think about the words but just say it because they’re supposed to. It’s sad.
Success to me is achieving my goal by hard work and perseverance in a country that is great because of God, it’s president, wise decisions, faith, and power. We have all this in America!

Well you got my "5"! Nothing brightens my day more than the positive and hopeful dreams of a young man or woman. So few people pass on the American Dream today but you are profoundly blessed to have a family that loves you enough to cheer you on to dream and acheive! -Patrick
