GOING THROUGH THE CHANGE
by: Nina M. Phillips

I was sitting on the corner, holding out my cup..
when a stranger came and sat beside me,
As he filled it up..
I was the blind man, who couldn't find my way,
Then the man called Jesus, gently rubbed my eyes
with his spit and clay..
I was a man possesed and naked, not really me.
Until he walked the shores into my house,
Then he set me free.
Who am I? Lord, that you would visit me?
Your sacrifice, laying down your life
I'm not even worthy..
I don't have much to offer,
For that which I'm to blame.
For all the times I doubted,
Lord, I am so ashamed.
Silver and gold, have I none,
But such as I have, I give to you..
I ask that you will take them,
And make them..into something new..
Here are my tears, Lord..take them all..
Lord, here is my heart that's broken
From where, they like raindrops fall.
I sit beside the homeless, that hold out their cup.
Telling them of Jesus, and they are soon filled up.
I gently rubbed a blind man's eyes, and then he could see,
With Jesus leading him, the way that he did with me.
I walk along the shores of deliverence ever patiently,
Lifting up the Savior Jesus, setting all the captives free.
Not ever the End! amen!
