I hate doubt.
I know it’s not a feeling from God, which gives me the right to hate it even more. Doubt is a dreadful, depraved demon -- a vampire, if you will, that feeds not on the blood of humans, but thrives on the waterfall of tears.
Doubt lurches in at the worst times, wrenching its diseased-like fingers around hearts and souls. Doubt longs to mesmerize, captivate and instill the child-like fear that rattles bones.
We all face doubt at various times in our life. Sometimes doubt disguises itself in our familiarity, masks itself in the mirror we look into each day. Doubt works hard to mimic, imitate and guffaws in that Machiavellian madness when we try to deny its presence. Doubt is not some cloaked, brooding type, subtly biding its time within the dark shadows around us. Doubt is ever present, wielding a fiery sword that slices and pierces pure and true.
So the question arises, how can one overpower doubt? That, my friend, is where Victory comes in.
Victory is a gift. Victory is promise. Victory is power. Victory’s role is to vanquish doubt. To loosen the bonds that doubt cinches around us.
But not everyone can boldly seek and declare Victory. Only those who know the true Victor are they themselves victorious.
Who is that Victor? His name is Jesus and He longs to present each and every one of us with Victory. Through Jesus, doubt trembles, doubt crumbles, doubt dissolves.
Why spend another day, another moment bounded to doubt? Doubt doesn’t care about you. You are but nameless, numberless, just another prisoner in its vast array of captives. It is only with Victory that the cocoon of life bursts open; you emerge a new creation and begin your flight to heights unimaginable.
