There are many Christians that have the desire in serving the Lord. People who received and believed in Jesus Christ was given the power to become children of God who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God (John 1:12-13). God gave us gifts (Acts 11:17) to use and exercise them (Romans 12:6-8) for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable (Romans 11:29) as each one of us has received a gift to minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God (1 Peter 4:10). The problem is, these gifts are hindered and become ineffective.
So what hinders you from functioning effectively in the body of Christ we belong to? It is important for us to break intimidation. Intimidation is timidity, lacking self-assurance, lacking courage and bravery, easily alarmed, discouragement and fear.
The root of intimidation is fear that causes you to focus on yourself rather than on the Lord. We always look at the cause not on the origin. We allow the spirit of fear to dwell in us so that we cannot move and we cannot use the gift that God gave us and most of all, we cannot hear the calling of the Lord.
If we continue in allowing this kind of spirit, it will encourage us to back down in the authority that the Lord had given us. It will also hinder us to grow spiritually that will cause us to lack direction in life. We will be depress, confuse and most of all, we’re going to lack faith.
So we must break the intimidation we have. How? We must repent from our hidden sins because these make us miserable. We must know if the Holy Spirit convicts us because it is the one who instructs us. However, if we don’t listen, we will be dull and last, we must remind ourselves that the Lord gave us the authority to be His son. Break the intimidation that hinders you to serve the Lord.
