Hurrying as Violence

A friend once told me that hurrying can be a form of violence. Another warned that we can hurry “right out of the Spirit.” Both were right with transcendant truth that is reminiscent of Thoreau’s words: “to kill time is to injure eternity.” All of the above are forms of violence perpetrated against the budding potentialities of the moment, and blinding our eyes to the constant leaking of beauty through the porous “walls of the universe.”
