" --that you may be complete until the day of Christ." This is not the wording you would expect in the epistle to the Phillipians first chapter, eigth verse. What we might expect is "that we may be complete ON the day of Christ. But "complete until the day of Christ" suggests that there is a completeness we can experience as believers every day through our fellowship with Jesus UNTIL His return. At His return we will be completely complete, so to speak. Perhaps until then this intermediate fulfillment can be characterized verbally as being incompletely complete. But until that day we can experience and enjoy what completion means for THIS time, this moment, this day, and that is as it ought to be, for we all have an abundant life available and accessible to us even now! What enviable creatures that can make us in such an incomplete, unsatisfied, and unsatisfyable world always craving more.
