The following words are from Heaven found in Revelation 14:13 (NIV). 13 Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.”
This is a Happy Thought. When we see all the good deeds that fellow Christians do, it is good to be able to think their life of good deeds will not just be a fading memory in the mind of God. We need to learn to think about this for ourselves also and for our own encouragement. We should also need think about this in connection with our loved ones - our family and friends who have passed on.
This verse tells us that our deeds are not forgotten. In the context of the scripture it has reference to the good deeds that we do that show our faithfulness to Jesus. It is a Happy Thought because it states a very powerful reason for doing good deeds. It is a Happy Thought because it gives great encouragement to keep on doing good deeds.
We can become weary in doing well. Gal. 6:9-10 says: 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
It is a Happy Thought because there is the added expectancy of a reward for doing good. It is a pleasant thought knowing someday we will rest from all of our labors. Knowing that doing good will be remembered and rewarded does bring us a Happy Thought. This Happy Thought, then, will keep us looking for ways to show God‘s righteousness and compassion by doing deeds that are good.
DOING GOOD IS A HAPPY THOUGHT SO let’s keep on DOING GOOD.
