What if I told you that you may be committing a sin that is worse than murder to your inner person? Can you even begin to imagine the mental, emotional and spiritual pain you would suffer were you to actual to commit cold blooded murder?
Over the years I have spent years trying help a few people who have accidentally killed another human. Tis a terrible thing.
George MacDonald said, "It may be an infinitely less evil to murder a person than to refuse to forgive a person. The former may be an act of a moment of passion; the latter is a heart's choice. It is spiritual murder, the worst, to hate, to brood over the feeling that excludes, that kills the image, the idea of the hated."
I know several people who killed in cold blood and are unable to feel any remorse. You do not want to sink to this level of human degradation. The denigration of the value of human life is one of the marks of shame of our current society. Yet to harbor an unforgiving spirit toward someone is as George McDonald said, evil.
Actually unforgiveness leads to bitterness etc and is in essence suicidal. Jesus said this about those who will not forgive in Matthew 18:34 "And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him."
