He softly whispers in her ear as, she rest in her sweet slumber. "You called me here to talk with you but, you are in no shape for conversation " He said as he brushed her hair out of her tired eyes. " Maybe I should come back later."
The tall polite man rises from the uncomfortable hospital chair.
"Justice, Wait," her weak raspy voice broke the silence, " I need to talk with someone but, I have no one I can speak with. I know we have never met but your wife has helped me a lot." Reaching out to him with her weak withered hands.
"What is it Mary" he leans down to comfort her.
"I am tired and my soul is restless. It feels like tomorrow will never come for me. Beth has been talking with me about Jesus and the door way to heaven."
"Yes, what about it?" he asked.
"Is it true? The doorway to heaven is open for people like me too?"
" Yes, maim, Jesus loves you and holds that door open for you and will let you in all you have to do is ask him," he replied while fixing her bed sheet.
" But, I am a sinner and have sinned all my life. I'm not sure if he will let me in knowing what I have done with my life." She starts to cry," I don't feel worthy enough to go to heaven."
"Jesus loves you and died for your sins. He died for you and for all you've done in your life. To him you are very worthy. The door is open all you have to do is ask him to help you through it."
"How do I ask him," her voice fills with anticipation.
" Ask him into your heart and tell him that you are ready to venture through that door he holds for you," he said bending to his knees, "pray with me."
They begin to pray together the most heart filled and beautiful words that she had ever heard. When they were finished she felt, as if, the whole world was lifted off her and a since of peace ran in her veins.
"Well, Mary, I have to go for now. I will see you again," he said as he started out the door and vanished.
Mary peacefully lies there wondering what the door will look like. When suddenly this Urgent voice enters the room.
"Oh, Mary, hi I am Justice Greene, Beth's husband. I got here soon as I could there was a bad storm that came up out of no where. Beth is on her way."
Mary never said a word and just sat there looking at the door.
