Sorrow like tumultuous waves,
Roll over my trodden soul.
Deathís grip like a serpentine squeeze
breath sucking--ever its goal.
Darkness engulfs me, birthing fear
Clouds, overshadow my light
Pain eats away at my body
Suffering ever my blight.
The loss of a child scars my heart,
Seems weeping will never cease
Memories of her eyes still haunt me
Will this void ever know peace?
When downsizing brings disaster
Babies go hungry to bed.
Wolves on my doorstep come howling
Just donít know how theyíll be fed.
Bitterness, hate, they consume me
No more my hand does she hold
Another man shares her laughter,
my hearts warmth--lost--now so cold.
I followed his lewd example
my home now a prison cell
This life I wanted to end it
Iíve slipped to the depths of hell.
When faith seems too distant to grasp
All hope to the wind has blown,
When it feels like no one loves me
my dove-like peace, too has flown.
Look up toward Heavens Son-shine
When you think your cries not heard
Press in--do not faint nor waiver
Spread your wings, soar like a bird.
