ADD TO MY FAVORITES
My besetting sin
My aggravation begins to build
And then I yield
To the pressure
My temper
Goes off with a snap
If only an app
Could control it
That would be so sweet
Not to repeat
my outburst
Push a button on my phone
To hone
My measured responses
But there is no app
And again I snap!
I remember the days
There was a phrase
WWJD
Set many free
From bad behavior
Just a reminder
To be kinder
What would Jesus do?
But today
I say
This instead
WWJS
Can you guess
What that says?
Of course
What would Jesus say
If only I would pay
Attention to His example
And take a sample
Of His loving words
When I’m tempted to yell
This thought will quell
My temptation
WWJS
When I feel an attack
And I want to yell back
WWJS
No matter the disaster
I put my eyes on my Master
And remember
WWJS

The transition from "WWJD" to "WWJS" (What Would Jesus Say) is a powerful, practical reminder for everyday life.
Your rhyme scheme gives the poem a great, fast-paced rhythm that perfectly mimics how quickly a temper can snap.
Thank you for sharing such an encouraging and honest piece!
Great idea for an app. Right at our finger tips the answer. I would probably wear the app out.
Your piece is right on topic and well paced. Thank you.
