wandering sheep
stubborn heart
bent on having my way
why shed blood
for my good
knowing I’ll walk away

makes no sense
can't compute
how God so full of grace
gave His Son
His only one
to die in my place

born sin scarlet
now bright white
washed in the blood of the Lamb
how can this be
dare I believe
God’s redemptive plan

makes no sense
can't compute
how a sinner can be saved
granted freedom
full release
for one born a slave

I’m unfaithful
constantly
but You still offer love
every morning
mercies new
are mine from above

makes no sense
can’t compute
my sin erased from time
what did I do
to deserve
A saviour to call mine

in my spirit
I believe
yet some days I am puzzled
how can black
become white
and all my enemies muzzled

makes no sense
can’t compute
but God’s ways are higher
I will believe
I will accept
for I know God’s not a liar
