As we would meet with friends.
His style is different from mine
With messages he sends.
I talk about my hopes and dreams,
But he’ll ask them of theirs,
And when he listens carefully,
They realize he cares.
He doesn’t speak about himself
In any situation.
It’s all about another’s thoughts
Within their conversation.
He has a way of listening
When someone tells a story.
He doesn’t interrupt at all
To brag about his glory.
He doesn’t seek attention for
Himself in any way.
Instead, he is attentive to
What others have to say.
When he’s presented with a need
And given reason why,
And asked for help that he can give,
He’s happy to comply.
He’s mostly an example of
True unselfish behavior.
His actions frequently are like
The ones shown by our Savior.
Has he achieved perfection yet?
He certainly has not.
He’ll grab the one last piece of cake
If it is chocolate.
