I need to have more grace,
And trade complaints and grumbling
To show a happy face.
Old age is not the time to quit,
To just lie down and die.
I know God still has use for me.
He helps me when I try.
My vision’s not like it was once,
And I don’t hear as well.
Forgetfulness is my new friend.
More problems, time will tell.
Though strength that I once had is gone,
My faith remains quite strong.
Despite the changes life has brought,
I’ve held onto my song.
I’ve so much to be thankful for,
Despite each frailty.
Throughout the years, quite many now,
The Lord’s been good to me.
God gave to me a family
And special friends who care.
What’s more, I have His promise that
He’s with me everywhere.
Above all, I’ve the confidence
That God has given me:
He’ll take me home to be with Him
For all eternity.
