And had clearly forbade
You to touch?
Daughter come here” my mother would call
And my face would fall
As I hear the scolding in her voice
Do I have a choice?
I must lie
To try and get by
With my crime
Perhaps it will work this time.
But when I try to lie
I can never get by
With it
It’s all over my face
It’s such a disgrace
I suppose I’m too transparent
I’m asked what I think
Of an awful song
And I do my best to try and get along
with the crowd
Dissension is not allowed
The crowd loves it so much
And thinks the singer has a touch
Of genius
“He has an unusual voice
He was a good choice”
It’s not the truth
But I don’t want to seem uncouth
But when I try to lie
I can never get by
With it
My face shows what I think
It’s all over my face
It’s such a disgrace
I suppose I’m too transparent
People are always hiding what they feel
Sometimes it’s hard to know what is real
But the love in Jesus’ eyes
Is not a disguise
His love and His grace
Are written all over His face.
He is always transparent
