And put His glory by
To come to earth as baby boy,
Full knowing how He’d die.
He taught and healed, did all the work
God planned for Him to do.
He proved what prophets had foretold,
Showed Scripture to be true.
To bring salvation to the world,
The Lord was crucified.
Then He arose as He had said
Three days past when He’d died.
The Lord to His disciples spoke
When came His time to leave.
He said since they believed in God,
Him, too, they should believe.
For His beloved ones, He prayed
And told them not to fear,
For though they’d not see Him on earth,
He always would be near.
He’d send His Holy Spirit then,
Who would in them abide,
To comfort, teach, as well, correct,
And ever be their guide.
His promised peace He left for them
And others who’d believe.
A home in heaven He’d prepare.
Return and them, receive.
