There they go again. Job’s so-called friends. Why oh why could’t they have continued their supportive silence?So many words so little comfort.

The more they talk the more questions pile on my heart. Like an overburdened table, all their words threaten to break my overflowing, aching heart.

And I wonder
Did God blunder
When He chose us
So many questions
and areas of trust

Can I trust God to judge me fairly?
When I barely
Have the strength to ask.
It’s way too big a task

Can I trust God to understand my humanity?
Or is it just vanity?

God is great
And we’re so small
How can He
Understand us at all

It’s like asking us to understand why the sheep
Gets in so deep
in trouble
Piling up the rubble

Can I trust God to hear
the cries of my heart?
When He seems so far apart from us

Can I trust God to be gentle and compassionate with me?
Is it possible to be
Free from guilt and shame
When His name
is so holy

Can I Trust God for vindication
When every indication
Is that I’m guilty of each crime
And fail God and my husband
Every time

Can I trust God to give me hope?
Could He toss me a rope
To pull me out
Of my despair
Does He even care?

Can I trust God with my eternity?
Job says our paternity
Comes from God
That strikes me as odd
What does that even mean
I suppose it remains to be seen.

How can I trust God?
For we’re finished
We’re done
The battle can’t be won.
If only someone could declare it’s done
Declare it is finished
The battle has been won

But such a person couldn’t be real
How can I trust God to know how I feel?

And so I echo the question again
Knowin that it’s impossible to win

How can I trust God?

This monologue cleverly hints at the many ways Jesus’s incarnate life is the long-awaited answer.

This is an interesting take. I'm horrible at reading titles so it took me a minute to know who MC was so I didn't feel as connected to her as I have other MCs. The poem was nice and the message is lovely.
