For the glory and the wonder
Of God’s incredible creation.
The first verse is for the heavens,
The panoply above, painted in unending blues,
Where sit the golden orb to warm the day
And moon and stars with luminosity
To bring brilliance to night’s darkness.
Almighty God introduces morning
And brings forth night with
Dazzling displays of changing colors,
More wonderful than the artist’s brush
Or a poet’s words can reproduce.
Then in the second verse, we find
All that lies beneath the endlessness of blue.
Tall mountains stretch to reach the sky
While valleys, curled like kittens,
Lie cuddled at their feet.
Greenness goes to infinity
From leafy trees and velvet grass,
Spread with a cover of brightest flowers.
The variety of animal life is so varied that
Ony the imagination of God
Could have conceived it.
Wondrous waters cover the earth,
Rushing, roaring, crashing, splashing,
Gurgling, burbling, and trickling,
Just as God intended.
The third and final verse is for man,
God’s ultimate creation that He made beautiful
In His own image, and He purposed to worship Him.
For all who would choose to follow Him,
He would be their Savior, their provider,
Their strength, their shield, and their comfort.
He promised to love them, to be with them always, and
To provide a home for them with Him in heaven forever.
Let us sing!
