Topic: Rescue - Recuse - Secure (07/24/25)
Within our hearts is a desire,
A wish to feel secure,
A hope whatever comes in life,
Our safety will be sure.

Sadly though . . .

When rivers flood and fires rage
Without a boundary,
Or people fight and warfare reigns,
There’s cause for misery.

When those with evil purposes
Act with impunity,
It seems almost impossible
To have serenity.

Come money woes and tragedies
Or sickness and disease,
With any kind of suffering,
It’s hard to feel at ease.

Yet we can take heart . . .

Our Savior said that in this world
We’d meet with tribulation,
But He has overcome the world.
He’s in each situation.

With all the problems that we face,
We never are alone.
We’re children of Almighty God
Who loves us as Hiis own.

With faith we know God’s with us now,
And heaven, when we die.
Secure with all His promises,
We know He cannot lie.

This is beautiful. It brought tears to my eyes and came exactly at the perfect time for me as I'm here distracting myself from a doctor appointment in a couple of hours. I can't describe the peace I felt as I read your beautiful words.

Despite all of the difficulties that you describe, what a comfort it is to know the Savior and the ultimate victory that is ours through Him. Your skillfully-crafted poem is a great reminder of who we are in Christ. Thank you, and blessings to you.
