That pervades our world:
By anger and jealousies that lead
To disputes and divisions
Of people and nations,
And actions most horrific,
Of violence and murder,
By darkened hearts that commit
Perversions and abuses,
With loss of innocence
To precious little children,
And unbearable hurt
To all those who are their victims,
By broken families and sadness
Of the ones who are left behind,
By any who choose to destroy
Whatever is good within the world
And who deny God is alive
And Jesus is our Savior.
Yet, all the holes in my heart
From the places sin has pierced
Are filled with the knowledge
Of the promises of God—
That Jesus will come back again
And take His followers
To be with Him in heaven,
Where there will be no sin,
Neither sorrow of any kind,
Nor shall there be death,
Only joy in the presence
Of our Lord.
