I love the old gospel songs. And the one that came to mind is “He Hideth My Soul.”

A wonderful Savior is Jesus, my Lord
A wonderful Savior to me
He hideth my soul in the cliff of the rock
Where rivers of pleasure I see.

When the billows of sorrow roll, I have a sure and steadfast source: Jesus Christ, my Lord. He is my refuge and hiding place.

No matter the situation, I am not alone. He is there, protecting me from the enemy. I find a deep sense of peace, a calm that surpasses all understanding, and ease in His arms as I lean on His everlasting arms.

In this world of chaos, the Word of God, a steadfast and unchanging refuge, is the rock on which I find sanctuary. It is a source of security and comfort in the storm.

On the cliff of the rock, we can enjoy the abundant blessings of God, symbolized by rivers of pleasure. Jesus is the fountain of life, and in His presence, we find joy that transcends human understanding, a joy unspeakable and full of glory. A deep and intimate love relationship develops when we spend time alone with God. His presence enfolds us and comforts us.

We face a real enemy, the devil, who seeks to drive us out of our shelter and destroy us. He can take on many disguises, even that of a well-meaning friend or family member. But God, in His abundant mercy, equips us with the grace to discern the enemy in any form, and His grace is always sufficient to help us overcome.

As Christians, we hold fast to the Word of God. The Word is not just our refuge and strength but a powerful weapon in times of trouble. It equips us for our spiritual battles, empowering us to conquer the devil anytime, anywhere, and under any circumstance. With the Word, we are not just defenders but conquerors.

You make some great points in this interesting piece. Be careful when using song lyrics, even old songs might not be in the public domain and you might have copyright issues. If you do use a song, make sure it's in quotations correctly (check cliff vs cleft) and cite information in an editor's note. I can feel your passion in the words. I feel your desire to spread God's love with your words and you really made me stop and think,which is always a good thing.
