trekking through valleys low
mountains high
you’ve heard my complaints and bitter sighs
but never abandoned
this weak child
you've led me to the base of a cliff
no way to ascend it
so i sit
selah
yahweh
selah
weeks pass as i wait under shadow
granite faces laughing
supplies low
doubt a pesky insect is stinging
my resolve to trust you
now waning
the smooth wall before me kisses sky
eagles soaring above
so I sigh
selah
yahweh
selah
bitterness slithers closer at night
your word is my weapon
shield and light
i stand up to face the precipice
“i will wait for the lord!”
raise my fist
“i will gain new strength and eagles wings
to run, not grow weary
trusting him”

yahweh
selah
lord i’ve followed you most of my life
