The first was the prophet, the second was a dream, and the third was a Urim and Thummim. In the book of Exodus, the Urim and Thummim were priestly tools worn explicitly on the breastplate of the High Priest. They sought divine guidance for the people and the nation, serving as a direct means of communication with God in matters of great importance.
According to Jewish doctrine, "Urim and Thummim" translates to "lights and perfection," suggesting a way to receive clarity and divine truth. So, when the people wanted an answer from God to know if it was His will in a particular matter or situation, a light would flash from the Urim and Thummim. That was a direct answer from God; if no light flashed, it was not God's will.
The devil has a counterfeit for God's ways of speaking to His children. He has the wizard, the false prophets, and the crystal glazer. It's crucial to be aware of these counterfeits and to discern the true from the false to ensure the light of God always guides us.
Today, the Bible serves as our modern Urim and Thummim, providing divine guidance. Just as the Urim and Thummim would give a direct answer from God, the Bible guides us in understanding God's will through its teachings and principles. If a dream or a prophet's word contradicts the teachings of the Bible, it is not of God. Even if it appears spiritual or religious, it is akin to the realm of fortune tellers who use the crystal ball.
Some people believe that crystals attract divinity. Fortune tellers used them to attract the spiritual realm for divine guidance for those seeking answers and advice.
To me, crystal is a beautiful work of art created by God for beauty, purpose, and clarity. It reminds me of the intricate beauty of God's creation and the clarity of His guidance.
