but really you’re just rude
I’m not sure you know
the meaning of the word.
Persecuted because you bear
the name of Christ means
that others see Jesus in your life
and take offence
which results in some
tense situations.
He is Love: patient, kind, not jealous,
not bragging, or arrogant,
neither acting unbecomingly,
not seeking His own way,
or easily offended, or provoked,
and does not rejoice
in unrighteousness.
Instead, He rejoices in truth,
bears all things,
believes all things,
hopes all things
and endures all things.
So if you are doing that
and people ridicule, abuse
and falsely accuse….okay
you may be a persecuted one.
I hope you’re not surprised
at such a fiery ordeal
thinking a strange thing
is happening.
Testing comes through sharing
in the sufferings of our Saviour.
Rejoice! For next comes
revelation of His glory.
If you are reviled for
His name you are
blessed
because the Spirit of glory
and of God rests on you
persecuted one.
Don’t claim persecution
if trouble comes your way
for all the wrong reasons:
murder, thievery, evil doing
meddling, lying, and adultery.
Consequence of sin is
not persecution.
However if suffering
comes calling
as you follow
Christ our Saviour
rejoice and glorify
His great name.
Amen
