Better than all of the rest.
I am not humble. I am proud.
I shout how good I am aloud.
I am conceited, haughty, too,
Superior in all I do.
I never fail nor make mistakes.
I am perfection— goodness sakes!
I have so much pomposity,
This fact, at times, surprises me.
But with success at every task,
“Why should I not have?” you may ask.
I’m arrogant and boastful, too,
Far smarter, I am sure, than you.
I praise my own intelligence,
Extraordinary commonsense.
So what if I am condescending?
My own self-worth is never ending.
It’s better to be overbearing
Than to descend to servile caring.
Humility means naught to me.
That’s not how I was meant to be.
“It’s true,” I fervently declare,
“I’ll spurn the humble everywhere.”
Report that some folks claim is true,
Is one I can’t give credence to.
In fact, I can’t contain my mirth.
“The meek will inhabit the earth?”
