Topic: Honor (05/30/24)
My dearest Strumpet,

I don’t know how you did it, but you averted disaster. The eyes of a million demons were fixed on you, yet you wriggled out of being destroyed – again. If I didn’t know better, I’d say you and Our Father Below had something going… But I digress.

I was watching your latest target’s TikTok, and I am concerned. All of her friends post reels and TikTok’s highlighting the ridiculousness and inanity of their lives – stupid dances, food videos, and so on. Your patient, not so much. She has started exploring the concept of honour! I watched her video where she, in all sincerity, was asking her followers what honour means to them, how it relates to life today, and how she and others can be more honourable. I must confess, a most unpleasant shiver ran down my forked spine. What is she thinking? What are YOU thinking?

Honour, Strumpet, is the Enemy's greatest weapon disguised as a quaint human ideal. It is the shield that deflects our most tempting whispers, the sword that severs the chains of self-interest we so meticulously forge.

Remember, our goal isn't simply to make them sin but to make them sin with a smug self-righteousness that blinds them to their true fallen nature. Honour, with its insistence on truth and fair play, throws a spanner into that grand design. But fear not, for even honour can be twisted to our advantage. These four steps have stood the test of time and have worked on almost every victim we have successfully moved down here from Earth.

Twist the definition: Subtly erode the true meaning of honour. Let it morph into a rigid adherence to empty formalities. Encourage a prideful obsession with outdated social codes that isolate your patient and make them appear stuffy and unapproachable. Boy, when Great Britain was at its greatest, we couldn’t keep up with the sheer number of new residents down here because of classism masquerading as honour. Traditions can support honour, but when tradition supplants honour, our fun begins.

Confuse it with pride: Weave a deceitful narrative where honour becomes indistinguishable from pride. Make admitting mistakes seem like a shameful weakness. Stoke the fires of her ego and convince her that clinging to past glories, even if those glories were built on shaky foundations, is the only honourable path. A prideful refusal to learn and grow will surely lead her down a delightful path of stagnation and irrelevance.

Weaponize loyalty: Turn her sense of honor into a loyalty trap so cunning she won't even see the chains binding her. Make her believe questioning authority, even demonstrably corrupt authority, is a betrayal of the highest order. Imagine her blindly following a wicked leader, convinced that disobedience is the ultimate dishonor. We have really seen tremendous success at the university level. I remember a time when students were told to question everything. Now, thanks to the events of 2020 and beyond (what a Satan-send that was for us!), we now have an entire generation that shuts down discourse, discussion, and the ability to share dissenting ideas.

Fuel resentment: Let her dwell on past slights and perceived betrayals. Fan the flames of resentment until she becomes a simmering stew of bitterness. Make forgiveness seem weak and dishonourable. A heart consumed by resentment is a fertile breeding ground for cruelty and vengeance, two very familiar friends of ours, wouldn't you agree?

Remember, Strumpet, a misplaced sense of honour can be far more effective than blatant temptation. It keeps your patient locked in a self-righteous cage, blind to the hypocrisy and darkness festering within. A woman convinced of her own righteousness is far easier to manipulate than one who acknowledges her flaws.

Now get to work, Strumpet! Let's turn this noble virtue into a twisted instrument of damnation.

C.S. Lewis would be proud of the way you've played off his Screwtape letters. You bring across a clear understanding of how honor works to foil the enemy's best schemes. A fun read.

Well done with this discourse from one demon to another. It's very cleverly written and is well-deserving of it's 1st place win! Congratulations! It reminded me of CS Lewis' work.
