My feet are shod
With the Gospel of Peace
But there’s a hole
Worn right down
In the sole
Peace leaks
Battle weary
Many miles
Have worn a hole
In the sole
My shoes are slipping
I am tripping
What can be done?
Come, My child, Come
I soften the leather
With oil and tender care
I patch up the holes
By fusing you to Myself
Take off the worn
Put on My Peace
Old becomes new
According to Jesus
My soul is kept
By the Spirit of Peace
But I’m not whole
There’s a war
In my soul
Peace leaks
Battle weary
Many trials
Have worn a hole
In my soul
My strength is waning
My heart is failing
What can be done?
Come, My child, come
I soften the wounds
With oil and tender care
You become whole by
Fusing with Holy Spirit
Let go the flesh
Run to My rest
Old becomes new
