From his eyes corner, he saw it
Intrigued, it immediately became his goal
The store’s marquis was so compelling
In big letters, “NEW SOLES FOR THE SOUL”
Turning around, he parked his car
His curiosity getting the better of him
What made him stop, he didn’t know
He just chalked it up as a whim
The proprietor met him at the door
He motioned for him to please come in
He entered a store like no other
It made him smile from so deep within
“My shoes will make you happy”
“That is what they are designed to do”
“Won’t you try a new pair on?
“You will find comfort in my shoes”
“There is nothing worse than sore feet”
“The wrong shoes will vex your soul”
“You will find that when a shoe fits”
“Comfort comes through brand new soles”
“You will find if you have happy feet”
“Troubles will flee from your soul”
“That is why I opened up my store”
“To bring relief to your aching soles”
“You will find shoes for every vocation”
From clown shoes to athletic cleats”
“House slippers to stiletto high heels”
“All of them designed for aching feet”
He left the store with four new pair
Knowing they would please his sore soles
He wondered, “Was the proprietor an angel?”
“Sent from Heaven to ease a person’s soul?”
The proprietor watched him drive away
His anointed shoes had accomplished a goal
His shoes would make his life easier
As they ministered to his soles and soul
