Here is the place
Where you can feel
The fingers of the sun
Reaching out to scorch your skin
Till cooling breezes creep from the deep
And gently waft across you
To soothe the burning.

Here is the place
Where you can fall asleep
To a lullaby of regular rhythm
From waves lightly lapping the land,
Or be awakened by an angry storm
Relentlessly pounding frothy surf
Against helpless shores.

Here is the place
Where you can hear
The sounds of your children
Calling out joyfully,
As covered with sand, they race
From building destructible castles
To splash into foamy ocean waves.

Here is the place
Where you can watch
The melding of sea and sky
Form a backdrop
For an awesome spectacle of color
To usher in the day,
Then welcome evening’s appearance,
Or you can look above
For the sight of geese
Playing follow the leader
Across an endlessness of blue.

Here is the place
Where you can contemplate
The greatness of your God,
Creator of all things,
Whose love reaches father than
There can be in any direction.
