Sweet words from your sweetheart,
A gentle utterance of affection
With a promise of forever love.
A whisper can be instructive,
A reminder to a little child
Of the proper way he should behave,
Just as he’s been already taught.
A whisper can be glorious,
Fulfillment that is joyfully anticipated
For a special wish your friend
Has previously shared with you.
A whisper can be sacred,
A prayer from the depths of your heart,
Offered to God on High,
Who hears each softly spoken word.
A whisper can be comforting,
An understanding word, given
To one in deep distress,
That you are a friend who cares.
A whisper can be affirming,
Urging forward one who needs
Assurance of your confidence
In her ability to achieve.
A whisper must be always kind,
Not offered ever with a mean spirit
About anyone else, that you would
Not want to hear about yourself.
