The walnut-sized black insect hovered at my opened driver’s-side window while I waited at a traffic signal. Not moving a muscle, I hoped the critter would not enter the vehicle. Instead, it momentarily lingered before buzzing away. Breathing a sigh of relief, I glanced up to see that the light had changed to green, and the cars ahead of me already on the other side of the intersection.
Surprisingly, no one had honked their horn to get my attention, but that insect sure had. I wondered if that brief interaction detained me from an upcoming hazard. Could it have been an angelic being? There was no observable incident along the route, but only God knows - there could have been.
Over the years, that were times when I was delayed leaving home, only to come across a fresh accident. Without a doubt, I knew it was God’s supernatural - perhaps angelic intervention that prevented me from being in those mishaps.
Lately, while exercising on my elliptical machine, I’ve been watching the old TV show about three angels. Although the program is not scripturally correct or realistic, it’s a pleasant thought to believe there are actual angels in charge of my life.
Actually angels do exist, and the Bible states that they are watching over us. What a comforting thought that the heavenly messengers are on the job. Although I may never realize that I am encountering an angel, but if I did, I highly doubt that they would glow upon revelation. Yet I know that they are real.
I don’t know if that insect was a bumble bee or an angel, but I believe there was a reason for the meeting, and I thanked God for His protection, and for the angels in his charge.
