While others, quite a lot.
The English language is quite strange,
If understood or not.
It’s not fun when you’re “odd man out,"
With no one who agrees.
It’s worse if you are treated like
You have some rare disease.
An “odd job” might be large or small,
Demanding you must work.
At times, it may be just a thing
That you would rather shirk.
Would you call me an “odd bird” if
My lunches I’d invert
And always eat my sandwiches
Right after my dessert?
If you discover “hens’ teeth,” or
Where “plaiting fog” is done,
Or if you “get blood from a stone,”
You’ll be the only one.
I’ve hope to be there “when pigs fly,”
Or “dollars grow on trees.”
Will you be sure to let me know
If you see such as these?
“Don’t hold your breath” if think you that
Such oddities you’ll see.
They’re more than odd. In fact, they are
Impossibilities.
