But are we listening?
Do we hear it?
The truth that can be found in the orchard?
When we speak of fruit
We must be astute
To detect the decay
and keep it away
from our hearts
We are not to judge
But for the heart that won't budge
We can be fruit inspectors
And be detectors
Of whether people are living their faith
Our tongues must never be so tart
That we end up discouraging the heart
Of someone straying
We don't want them paying
a horrible price
If I would cherry pick those
who are the pick of the crop
I would choose those who refuse to lop
grace from a fellow believer
The people who agape love
Who are sweet to the core
There is no doubt
It's You Lord they adore
It’s obvious that they read their Bible
To say otherwise
Would be pure libel
If we say we can have fruit
Without spending time with You
That’s deception from the enemy
And it’s just not true
We’re the apple of Your eye
And we’ll see You bye and bye
Sometimes I feel like a lower branch peach
who can't quite reach
The heights that I desire with You
When it seems I’m in the pit of despair
I know that You care
And will get me out of there
“Juiced” in the nick of time
It can be bitter
If you're a quitter
It can be sour
If we let go of Your power
It can be sweet
If we get into the meat
of Your word
If we give You our needs
You can turn them into seeds
for Your glory
Jesus talks of the fruit of the spirit
But are we listening?
Do we hear it?
The truth that can be found in the orchard?
