An evening prayer’s a ritual
For when the day is done,
A time for showing thankfulness
For all that God has done.

His mercy and His shepherding
Throughout the livelong day,
The ways that He’s protected us
As we’ve gone on our way.

Remembering His faithfulness
In ways both great and small,
We recognize His hand at work,
His power over all.

For true confession of our sins
That we may have committed,
And knowing things that we’ve done wrong,
He’s graciously remitted.

Requesting help for family
And all who need His touch,
That lost ones of the world will know
He loves them very much.

For quiet sleep and peaceful rest
Through the entire night,
To rise refreshed to face the day,
When comes the morning light.

An evening prayer’s a ritual
For when the day is done,
A time for showing thankfulness
For all that God has done.
