Of nature’s journeying:
The sparkling little streams that chuckle
As they race merrily down the hill,
The orange and purple sunrise getting up early
To travel in great beauty across the sky,
The sun scattering skeins of golden yarn
As it scoots slowly westward,
The shadows shifting from place to place
To mimic everything before them,
The snow stealing silently across the land
To cover it with a bedspread of purest white,
The wind whistling through the trees
As it blows ever onward,
The ocean roaring to the shore
To resound again and again,
The squirrels scurrying hither and yon
To seek out nuts and seeds to stash away,
The prairies parading in jackets, green and tan,
As far as eye can see,
The vines snaking up the sides of red brick
To create intriguing patterns,
The night dropping a curtain of darkness
To conceal the sight of fleeing day.
I am blessed to observe the natural world
Of God’s incomparable creation.
