we are prone to misuse
What does it mean?
You have to follow the clues
I love chocolate you cry
It's so good I could die!
But you don't mean to say
That with your life you would pay
For a bite.
I love that show
Its romance gives such a glow
But the glow soon dies
When another show arrives.
I love that dress
It makes you look so cute
But when you wear certain things
I wisely stay mute
Love means so much
That it starts to mean so little
Bit by bit we all whittle
The meaning away
You say that you love me
Compared to what?
The chocolate you crave?
The fact you did save
So much on that dress?
Come to my party
You respond I'd love to
That love is so shallow
Such a filler
Such a spiller
of words out of the mouth
But love has a true meaning
Love has a true person
We know who it is
And we rejoice we are His
Love without action
Is love with no meaning
Love with no sacrifice
Sets the world careening
into hopelessness.
We all know the verse
But we minimize its power
Now is the time
Now is the hour
To bask in the beauty
Of that battle that was won
God so loved the world
that He gave us His son
So though they try to diminish it
That won't be allowed
The word love is power
When rooted in God
Love is His power
Love is His presence
Love is one of His presents
to us all
