Remembering my own,
And knowing that mistakes I make
Are mine and mine alone.
May I see clearly what is good—
The beauty of creation,
The gifts God gives abundantly,
Beginning with salvation.
May I be blind to all concerns
For what may come tomorrow,
Still safely trusting in the One
Who knows each joy and sorrow.
May I see clearly that God cares
For even birds and flowers,
As He sends all who live on earth
Both sunshine and the showers.
May I be blind to selfishness,
Self-seeking, and to pride,
To anything that tempts me to
Leave principles aside.
May I see clearly others’ needs,
Their plight that I observe,
And may I care enough to find
Some ways that I might serve.
May I see clearly Jesus’ love,
His mercy, and His grace,
And may I live to honor Him
Until I see His face.
