Grief and sadness blur together
like an out-of-focus picture
Muted hues dance among shadows,
Blanketed beneath snow’s purity,
my sinful nature covered by His blood.
The breath of spring awakens rebirth,
Heaven’s tears soak the ground
Lillies clothed in compassion sprout,
Along with unwanted weeds
I pluck the roots of destructive thinking,
So, the Holy Spirit can plant new seeds.
The earth bursts with color and song,
Summer’s brilliant sun warms me
with the promise of coming harvest
Living water brings refreshment,
I feel God’s presence
As He reveals Himself to me.
Change is in the air,
As autumn leaves soar
Floating into the unknown,
Shedding the remainders of yesterday
Nothing holds them back
Like me, they are enjoined in the flow.
Through the seasons of life,
And the weather of my soul
I feel the transformation,
Embracing the present
And knowing when to let go
Shifting my focus from fear to love.
