I’ve no such aspiration.
What’s more, it’s true—I would not have
A single nomination.
But “wife” and “mother” suit me well.
I hold both occupations.
They’ve brought fulfillment to my life,
Exceeding expectations.
I’ve not been a philosopher
Nor written dissertation,
But I’ve created poetry,
Prepared for publication.
I’ve never sung in opera.
I know my limitations,
But singing hymns with worshippers
In church brings exultation.
I would not choose to live alone
In lonely isolation.
I’m happy near the ones I love
As we have conversation.
I’ve been a classroom teacher, and
I taught communications.
That’s reading, writing, speaking, too,
With all their applications.
I’m not a world-wide traveler,
But I’ve been on vacations
And seen some lovely nature scenes
In various locations.
I plan to go to heaven, though,
As my last destination.
Through Jesus’ blood and righteousness,
He paid my reservation.
