As we go through this life,
From simple worries and concerns
To tragedies and strife.
Disease is rampant in these days
And spreading like a fire,
Consuming all of normalcy
To make of it a pyre.
Disasters bring destructive force
From winds and flooding rains,
With devastation to the land,
Devoured by hurricanes.
We’ve losses from our loved ones’ deaths,
So difficult to bear.
The ties that had us closely bound
Can we no longer share.
The illnesses that plague our souls,
Along with suffering,
The knowledge we will sometime die
And fears that thought might bring.
The troubled state our nation’s in
With hatred that’s widespread,
The unrest and the violence
That fill our hearts with dread.
The giants that we face are real,
But we are not alone.
Our loving God is always near,
Won’t leave us on our own.
He knows the giants that are ours.
He’s greater than them all.
His power is unlimited
To help us when we call.
