State of being.
Remaining in the moment…
Seems simple enough while ruminating within my head on a good day. Sun shining, no one placing demands or messing with my schedule and plan.
But right now at 2:00 AM, just focusing on my breath in an attempt to slow the chaotic progress from the present to the past to the future, to a myriad of odd multitudinous places, the act of bringing my mind continually back to the here and now where He promises He is, seems impossible.
Reining my wild mustang mind back into this moment, this place where I meet with my Maker, the Maker of heaven and earth, where my help comes always come from, seems unattainable.
Recognizing the gift yet appropriating it and managing to stay here and now with Him does not seem available this early hour.
Verb- repose- to remain in the moment.
Either or, both and…
We're told it's a battle, yet when engaged in my own headspace in the wee hours, all of the wisdom garnered through God's Word, His living and active, sharper than a two edged sword Word, fails my undone mind.
Knowing His promises are true, I remain.
For two hours I pray, praise, speak out loud and redirect my mind to His precious powerful promises.
In Him we are NOW complete. Right now.
One of my favorite devotional writers Sarah Young aptly stated in the July 18th reading, “richly present in all your moments.”
The lonely moments, the fearful moments. Right in the moment by moment uncertainty. Untouchable by any other than who we need a touch from.
ABBA help us to abide in You each and every moment. Redirect our focus to keep our eye on the prize.
