And makes me ask, “What’s life about?”
Is there a point to baby’s birth
To living years, then leaving earth?
I know it’s not to wear a mask
And playing games is not my task
What is my call before I die?
Please tell me, Lord, I must know why.
The wasted time in fear and debt
To promise made but never kept
The marching done while in one place
Means nothing in that final race.
Did my arrow shoot too high or low
Or did even it leave my bow
Was I too scared to ask the way
Or dumber still, just not obey?
In quiet rest and contemplation
I hear Your simple revelation
We’re here for just one major reason
To tell the world life has a season.
And when we finally breathe our last
There’s only future, fueled by past
Did we follow rules by man
Or strive to do our Lord’s true plan.
Straight forward and in tune with goals
The A-B-C is saving souls
God needs us all to use our voices
To wake the masses to just two choices.
And that’s the mission, the big request
To push through doors and do our best
To sound alarms with horn or bell
And show folks Heaven (as well as hell).
The job from birth to when we leave
In tapestry we’re meant to weave
With threads of gold for all who heard
and grasped how serious is God’s WORD!
