When sadness fills your mood,
To free you from your gloominess
And change your attitude?
Where can you get encouragement,
Mid troubles of the day,
With problems out of your control
That will not go away?
How can you keep an even keel
When ground below seems sinking
And hold yourself above the fray
Of any evil thinking?
Who is the One whom you can trust
To seek you when you’re lost,
Who’ll understand and care for you
When you’ve been tempest tossed?
Why would you try to search alone
For answers to life’s questions,
When there’s a resource you can use
With all the right suggestions?
God’s Word’s the very source you need
To solve your difficulties
And understand His will for you
Amid life’s controversies.
And as you look unto the Light
When darkness covers all,
Then you’ll, in brightness, move ahead
And stumble not nor fall.
