I'm honored that you think of me so often through the day
And we would be together now if I could have my way.
To know that someone such as you could love someone like me
Is something that in all my dreams, I never could foresee.

I'd heard about you long before we ever chanced to meet.
Your eyes met mine and suddenly you swept me off my feet.
I've never met a man who is as dear to me as you.
You've let me know without a word that you feel that way, too.

Each hour we spend together makes me know our love is real.
Your honesty and kindness are just part of your appeal.
In all my life I never knew that love could be this sweet.
I think of you and know that you have made my life complete.

I've told my friends and family how much you mean to me.
They always say the change in me is very plain to see.
I sensed when first we met that you had firmly staked your claim
And since you've come into my life, I've never been the same.

Since you have been away from me, I've longed to see your face,
To see your arms wide open and to feel your warm embrace.
I read your letters every day and memorized some, too.
They help relieve the loneliness so I'll feel close to you.

Before you left, you asked if I'd consent to be your bride.
I told you I'd be honored and would wear your name with pride.
That promise was recorded; we were told that it sufficed
To make me live forever as the bride of Jesus Christ.
