Left me in a lurch
Time crunch, plexus punch
Should have done a search
Big scare, cut hair
Couldn’t find a style
House note, washer broke
Laundry in a pile
Tire flat, sick cat
Contracts on the line
On cue, flu too
Could this be a sign?
Slammed door, cried more
Hitting wall with head
Bad plan in the can
Didn’t heed the red
Rambling, gambling
No stop to think it through
Messed up, fessed up
Should have let it brew
Subjugated, dominated
Why didn’t I take a breath?
Blindsight, Hindsight
Could have led to death
Knee-jerk, more work
Often causes pain
Hitting pause just ‘cause
Can neutralize the strain
Stepped back on track
Slowed down to get a grip
Prayed more, planned for
Guidance for each trip
Defense, good sense
Keeps it in perspective
Pigeon-holing our controlling
Makes us more effective
God’s Way any day
Is a better choice
He knows our woes
I’d rather hear His voice!
Mistakes, heartaches
Often blurred my path
Packed up, backed up
Erased and did the math
Stubborn mule’s new rule
Means look before I leap
From start, plant smart
To make those roots go deep
Once whipped, amended script
Deleted chance and fate
Now prep, before step
I stop to check my WAIT!
